A Neutral Density (ND) or Gray filter reduces the amount of light entering the camera lens without affecting the color rendition. This helps to obtain a slower shutter speed to enhance blurring of movement for example, or will result in a larger lens aperture thus enabling better separation of foreground and background. With digital cameras you may also use a lower ISO setting to achieve this, but if that is not possible, a neutral desity filter will be the only solution. Slimeline metal mount with front thread, hard-coated, Schott-glass
