This image has sparked an international debate and as color geeks, we couldn't be more excited! Is #thedress blue and black or white and gold?
With Datacolor Spyder, there is no debate on correct color. Here's what Michael Brill, Director of Research and Principal Color Scientist, Datacolor has to say: "Each person has a different way of trying to infer the colors of objects independent of the spectrum of light under which the objects are viewed. This picture has just the right mixture so one can interpret the picture as a white/gold dress in a bluish light or a blue/black dress in a white light. The result seems insensitive to the choice of image-rendering device. It is a startling effect. One can hardly imagine Robert Frost saying, 'Nature's first black is gold.'"
Ps: If you haven't heard already, the dress is actually blue and black!
