This 62mm SHD WMC Slim CPL-HD Filter from Benro is primarily designed to eliminate polarised light, producing increased colour saturation. This is particularly noticeable when photographing outdoor scenes, where a CPL filter will work to combat atmospheric fog to deepen the blue of the sky, highlight white clouds, and eliminate reflected light bringing detail back into reflective surfaces such as water or glass. It will not affect picture colour, and is slim enough to avoid vignetting when used with most wide angle lenses. All filters will also offer a degree of protection for the front element of your lens against moisture, dust and scratching.
With a rugged black aluminium alloy filter ring, it features a super thin 1.6mm optical lens for impressively clear images, and 12 layers AR multi-coating increases transmittance while decreasing internal reflections. Edge coating with black decreases reflections at the filter edge. The WMC abbreviation is short for Waterproof Multi-Coating, which as well as being anti-reflective, makes this filter water and oil repellent and fingerprint and scratch resistant.
