Modular Top Loader Camera Inserts (SOLD SEPARATELY): All Side Series backpacks use our Shimoda Top Loader camera insert system. Top Loaders come in 3 sizes (S, M, L) and can be used inside a backpack as the camera insert or on their own as a Sling/Shoulder Bag, and can also be used with the backpack’s waist belt as a Hip Pack. The Side Lite 22 will fit either the Small or Medium Top Loader. Side Series packs can be easily adapted to different shooting scenarios with one modular system.

Side Access

Side Series backpacks have exclusively side camera access. The side-port allows access to any Shimoda Top Loader insert size (small or medium). Side-only access allows the backpack to be much lighter weight, while also providing quick-access to the gear.

Shimoda's Signature Capture Straps

Compatible will all brands of camera clips, with the added comfort of padding behind the clip. Straps feature a zippered phone pocket that fits an iPhone Max, plus an expandable accessory pocket for gadgets that can also hold a water bottle. They include hidden routing for a 2-way radio speaker/mic which you can also use for a water bladder hose.

Expandable/Portable Storage

The rolltop can be expanded to meet changing travel and gear needs. And the front stuff pocket can easily accept jackets and other large items.

Lightweight Water-Repellant Recycled Shell, Plus Rain Cover Included

In addition to including a removable rain cover for the heaviest wet weather days, the Side Series uses Cordura re/cor RN66 fabric: a durable, lightweight nylon made from reclaimed pre-consumer waste materials that have been recycled into high quality yarns. The manufacturing process creates 83% fewer greenhouse gas emissions, uses 82% less energy and 57% less water than comparable nylon textiles.
