Expansive Large-Format Sensor
At the heart of the GFX ETERNA 55 is a tall, native 4:3 sensor covering Open Gate and multiple crop modes. With a diagonal size of 55 mm — one of the tallest in the market — it offers a canvas 1.75× larger than Super 35. This opens up entirely new creative possibilities, from immersive widescreen to classic anamorphic looks.
Flexible Formats and Resolutions
Shoot in five main formats — GF, Premista, 35 mm, anamorphic and Super 35 — with multiple resolution choices including Open Gate 3.8K 4:3 up to 48 fps, Super 35 6.3K24, DCI/UHD 4K30 and Cine 5.8K anamorphic. Built-in real-time de-squeeze makes working with anamorphic glass effortless on set.
Professional Codecs and Output
Capture rich colour and detail internally in Apple ProRes 422/HQ/LT, 10-bit HEVC/H.265 or H.264, or output 12-bit RAW via HDMI to external recorders. Whether you need robust files for post or lightweight proxies, the GFX ETERNA 55 delivers.
FUJIFILM Colour Science and Film Simulations
Harness 20 iconic FUJIFILM film simulations, including ETERNA/Cinema, PROVIA, Classic Chrome, ACROS and more, or create custom 3D LUTs for F-Log2 C. This signature FUJIFILM look gives you cinematic colour straight out of the camera or a strong base for grading.
Lens Flexibility with FUJIFILM G and ARRI PL Mounts
- The GFX ETERNA 55 ships with a native G-mount for FUJIFILM’s expanding GF lens line — including the new power-zoom G 32-90 mm with geared focus, iris and zoom rings — plus an included ARRI PL adapter for cine glass and Cooke /i lens data support.
Built-In Variable ND Filter
A stepless electronic ND filter ranging from ND0.6 to ND2.1 (two to seven stops) lets you control exposure without changing your f-stop, perfect for bright exteriors or smooth motion effects.
Optimised for Modern Production
Dual 3-inch side displays and an external 5-inch daylight-bright monitor make it easy for both operator and assistant to check settings. Hot-swap battery support, expanded audio input with TASCAM handle compatibility, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Frame.io integration streamline your workflow on set.
