Professional 5K Image Quality
At the heart of the FX5 is a newly developed 16.6MP full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor designed for outstanding speed, dynamic range and low-light performance. The stacked sensor architecture significantly reduces rolling shutter while delivering fast readout speeds for smoother motion and more responsive operation.
Combined with Sony's renowned colour science, the FX5 produces natural skin tones, smooth highlight roll-off and over 16 stops of dynamic range for cinematic image quality.
Open Gate Recording & Internal X-OCN
The FX5 is the first camera in the FX series to support internal X-OCN recording, bringing Sony's professional RAW workflow from its flagship Cinema Line into a compact cinema camera.
Capture up to 5K Open Gate in a 3:2 aspect ratio for maximum flexibility when cropping for multiple delivery formats or visual effects work. Three internal X-OCN recording options allow filmmakers to balance image quality and file size according to production requirements.
AI-Powered Autofocus
Powered by the latest BIONZ XR2 processor and dedicated AI processing unit, the FX5 delivers Sony's most advanced autofocus system in an FX camera.
