The PENTAX KF with 18-55mm kit lens offers outstanding imaging performance in a compact body. Featuring dustproof, weather-resistant construction and dependable cold-proof performance down to temperatures as low as 14°F, it's optimized for all types of outdoor photography.
It incorporates a host of advanced functions and user-friendly features including a pentaprism-type optical viewfinder with a nearly 100% field of view and 0.95-times magnification and an in-body shake-reduction system with a 4.5-shutter-step compensation.
Built with the photographer in mind, the grip, control buttons on the back panel and mode dials are contoured to offer optimum comfort and operability. The high-definition vari-angle LCD monitor makes it easier to compose images in a wide variety of applications, while the unique Night Vision Red Light LCD function minimizes eye strain and fatigue for nightscape and astrophotography.

With an approximately 100% field of view and nearly 0.95-times magnification (with an FA 50mm F1.4 lens set at infinity), the PENTAX KF's viewfinder provides a large sharp view of the subject, allowing you to capture it exactly the way you want. With very little aberration even at the corners of the image field, it assures excellent ease of viewing in many different photographic situations.

For Flexible Outdoor Shooting
The vari-angle LCD monitor allows you to position it at any desired angle, making image composition easier in a wide variety of situations: high-angle shooting using outstretched arms, low-angle shots taken from ground level or astrophotography with the camera pointed upwards toward a star-filled sky.
SR (Shake Reduction)
The PENTAX KF features the PENTAX-original, in-body SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism with a compensation effect of 4.5 shutter steps.* It works effectively with all PENTAX interchangeable lenses - from wide-angle to telephoto models - and minimizes camera shake in shake-prone conditions, such as when shooting low-light scenes with ambient light only, using a telephoto lens, or photographing sunset scenes.

Its compact, easy-to-carry body features dustproof, weather-resistant construction with 100 seals throughout the body and outstanding cold-proof performance at temperatures down to 14°F (-10°C).
The Pentax DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR lens is a standard zoom lens that has a focal length equivalent to 27.5mm to 84.5mm in 35mm film format. It features an optical system with a high-performance aspherical lens and Anomalous Dispersion Glass is used for correcting various types of aberration and enabling full edge-to-edge lighting and sharp resolution. Furthemore, the lens simple drip-proof construction prevent water from getting into the lens.
